I have found the best way to keep my house and body clean and fresh in the amazing summer is to deal with anything dirty as soon as possible. Insted of lazily leaving my breakfast or lunch tray festering on the worktop whilst I am busy on something else, I now train myself some discipline. I boil a little extra water in the kettle at brew time and if I have a few bits to wash up, then I use that with cold water and get everything cleaned thoroughly and put away. I also get rid of all waste food – whether salad off cuts etc or uneaten cooked food. I use my compost bin wisely – not introducing any egg shell or meat as these attract vermin to my bin. Anything that can’t be composted is wrapped in newspaper and put in the council food bin. Keeping sugar and sweet stuff in jars helps avoid vermin.
