Living in a modern family house – less than 20 years old – it’s easy to become complacent about cleaning and we don’t every think about what would happen if we suffered a flood or if a burst pipe caused problems with our domestic completeness.  However, I have been taking more note of these things lately after hearing first hand from two families who have suffered massive upheaval through various natural and man made problems.  The first was tale unfolded whilst we were staying with pals in Cornwall – they were still getting themselves straight after suffering massively through storms 3 years ago.  They hadn’t got flood insurance and had to sort out some major things completely unaided.  Although the furnishings and effects could be changed, the overpowering problem was cleaning up.  You cannot imagine the stench and the mess once the water recedes.  Getting a specialist commercial cleaning company to assist was a truly inspired idea – they are so geared up for this and have much beefier cleaning equipment to suit the circumstances.
